Street Manager account creation, types, and eligibility

To create a Street Manager account, you must:

  1. Work for a:
    • Local Highway Authority in England
    • Works Promoter (also known as Utility Company)
    • Contractor employed by those organisations
  2. Know who the ‘primary contact’ is in your organisation – this is the person with authority to sign your organisation up to the service. If a Highway Authority or works Promoter, the primary contact has also responsibility for paying for the use of Street Manager.
  3. Know who the ‘admin contact’ is in your organisation – this is the person who sets up your accounts, approves Contractors and is the day-to-day contact for support issues. If already registered on Street Manager, your admin contact should be able to create a user account for you.
  4. If your organisation is a Highway Authority or works Promoter, you must have a Street Works Act (SWA) code confirming your legal right to carry out works. Alternatively you can create a SWA code via Geoplace.

What sort of user am I?

Street Manager has 4 types of user for which access may or may not be charged. The user types are:

Registering your organisation on Street Manager

To register your organisation on Street Manager, you must supply:

  1. your organisation name
  2. your organisation sector from the list below (only if you are a Promoter):
    1. Electric
    2. Water
    3. Gas
    4. Telecoms
    5. Transport
    6. Other
  3. your primary contact title, name, and email address
  4. your admin contact name and email address
  5. either your 4-digit SWA code, if you are a Promoter, or your company house number if you are a Contractor
  6. if you are a Contractor, please provide the name of the Highway Authority/Promoter that you will work on behalf of
